How to measure for a walk-in shower

Measure the space before you order. Most of our kits and bases are sized to replace a standard 60-inch tub or an existing shower, and each kit and base page lists the alcove size it fits.

1. Measure the width

Measure the back wall from side wall to side wall at the floor, at waist height and near the ceiling. Use the smallest number.

2. Measure the depth

Measure from the back wall to the front edge of the opening, on the left and on the right. Use the smallest number.

3. Find the drain

Note whether the drain sits on the left, right or center as you face the back wall. A base with the drain on the same side keeps the plumbing work simple.

4. Check the path in

Kits ship crated on a pallet. Measure doorways, hallways and turns from the street to the bathroom so the base and wall panels can be carried in.
